Week Ahead - Jan 6-10

I hope everyone had a happy holidays season and wonderful new year. This is the first real week back in markets, which will be fully staffed. We have quite a bit of data ahead, and we have Thursday as a market holiday to commemorate President Jimmy Carter’s passing right before the NFP on Friday. Thus, expect NFP prep to occur largely Wednesday with some spillover to the overnight session Friday.

In terms of data, we start with S&P Services PMI and Factory Orders tomorrow, Tuesday has trade data, ISM Services, Redbook and JOLTs, Wednesday has MBS applications, ADP, while Thursday has Challenger job cuts & claims. Finally, Friday has NFP and UMICH Sentiment.
