A Skeptic's Model for Bitcoin

Before we begin, it is important for me to acknowledge that I have never been a Bitcoin or crypto enthusiast. I have long been skeptical of its staying power and price for a number of key reasons:

Big picture: we still do not have a proper sense as to its purpose. Let’s go through a few arguments that have been made over the years for BTC in particular, and crypto in general. I will then also provide a key reason why we have to take it seriously.
